Is consistency in the appearance of the entrance gate, front door and fence important?
If, as builders, you have reached this stage of construction and are considering the choice of your home entrance door and garage door, then congratulations and I wish you continued building success. Many people wring their hands when looking at the range of doors and garage doors available on the market. In fact, there is a very wide range on the market at the moment. With even more money at your disposal, it can be difficult to make a decision. What to choose?
Garage door versus front door
If, in our design, the front door is flush with the garage door, I would suggest looking comprehensively, i.e. a company that supplies both the door and the gate. It will be very difficult to match the colour of the two from two different manufacturers. White to white dissimilar etc. Only at first glance can they match, but after installation you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. Even more so when looking at the door and gate from a distance, the difference can be even more apparent than up close. In addition to colour considerations, it is good for the gate and front door to be of the same line, as they will have repeating finishes and will work together. What if it is not possible to purchase the entrance gate and front door from the same manufacturer? Then you should absolutely request the manufacturer of the product you are buying first (usually the garage door) to give you a colour sample so that when you choose the colour of, for example, the door you can rely not only on your memory, but also on the sample.
If our door and garage door are not next to each other or even on different walls, then we can allow ourselves a certain amount of freedom in purchasing, but I would still advise sticking to the same colour range and keeping a similar style. So as not to disfigure our newly built building.
Garage door, door vs entrance gate
Looking at residential houses in Poland, one can get the impression that the appearance and consistency in the appearance of the house and the fence is not important to everyone. This is a very big mistake, because there is nothing more pleasant than admiration in the eyes of strangers passing our house. And we won't achieve this even if our beautiful house, built with the best materials, is surrounded by a fence made of rusty mesh. In other words, a rusty mesh fence will spoil the whole effect and there is nothing we can do about it. Taking this into account, it is worth already at the stage of designing the house to think about the fence, its appearance, height, material from which it will be made. If we have already made a decision about the fence, it is necessary to think about the ideal entrance gate, which will fit not only to the fence, but also to our house. Nowadays, we can buy a gate painted in any colour we dream of. In the range of gate and fence manufacturers, we can find, for example. aluminium gates or stainless steel (an alternative to wooden gates), painted in any RAL colour. So if you dream of a wine-coloured gate, your dream is within reach. Aluminium or stainless steel gates, as well as fences made of these materials, will have a longer lifespan than wooden ones. In appearance, they will fit in with any development, e.g. modern, modernist.
The downside of modern materials is certainly the price. At the planning stage of the building project, you should give this a good deal of thought. So that our dreams of a coherent appearance for the house and the fence can come true.
